Parisian museum screens doc by Ebrahim Mokhtari

An anthropology museum in Paris has screened Ebrahim Mokhtari’s documentary ‘Saffron’.

Musée de l’Homme, an anthropology museum in Paris has screened ‘Saffron’, a documentary by Iranian filmmaker Ebrahim Mokhtari.

Jean Rouch Auditorium of the museum hosted the screening of the Iranian documentary on Saturday.

Made in 1990, ‘Saffron’ depicts the troubles of saffron farmers in Iran. The documentary has been honored at a number of festivals in Italy, Japan, etc.

The public relations manager of the film announced that some extracts from Mokhtari’s other award-winning documentary ‘Leaf of Life’ also went on screen in the session which was attended by the director.

Feature-length film ‘Leaf of Life’, Mokhtari’s latest work, narrates the story of a man who agrees to plant and harvest saffron to be able to earn money he needs to buy a house. Mokhtari got the idea for this film when he was shooting Saffron.

‘Leaf of Life’ won the INALCO Prix at the 24th edition of the Vesoul Festival of Asian Cinema held in the commune of Vesoul in eastern France in February.

The Musée de l'Homme is an anthropology museum in Paris, France. It was established in 1937. It is the descendant of the Musée d'Ethnographie du Trocadéro, founded in 1878.
